Privacy policy for Home
Home is a home screen that runs on one family's Samsung Frame TV. This policy describes what it does with a Google account that signs in to it. Last updated 1 November 2026.
What Home asks Google for
When you sign in, Home asks for read-only access to your YouTube account (the
youtube.readonly scope). It uses that access to read the list of channels you
subscribe to, those channels' latest uploads, and the details of those videos (title, length,
publish date), so the TV can show new videos from your channels. Home does not read your watch
history, comments or private playlists, and it never changes anything in your account.
Where the information goes
Everything stays on the TV. The sign-in token and the list of videos are kept in the app's own storage on the television and are sent nowhere except back to Google's own servers when the list is refreshed. Home has no server of its own, keeps no copies elsewhere, and shares nothing with anyone.
Withdrawing access
On the TV, choose "Sign out" on your stripe, which deletes the token from the TV and tells Google to revoke it. You can also remove Home from your Google account at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Google's requirements
Home's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
